Jackie's 30th Birthday Celebration

Happy 30th Birthday Jackie!!

I honestly still can't believe that we are all turning 30 this year!  I know I have a baby but sometimes I  just don't feel like a "grown up."

Saturday was Jackie's 30th birthday and party.  Her awesome husband, Andy, threw her a great party with lots of yummy food!!  I made cole slaw and dirt for the party and I really wish that I took some photos so I could share the recipes.  I tend to make both of those things a lot so I will definitely share next time!!

We had such a great time celebrating!  I love my friends!!

A photo shoot with my adorable nephew, Kyle!

He was directing what kinds of faces we were supposed to be making.

These are some of my favorites!!

I certainly hope girls don't require as much running around as boys do!!  He really tired me out!!

Jackie's equally pretty and delicious birthday cake!

(It made a pretty great breakfast the next morning!  Thanks for the leftovers!)

The night ended with Kyle opening Jackie's presents!

She loved her Rebecca Minkoff mini mac from me and Alise!

Jackie - Hope you had a great 30th and that all your birthday wishes come true!!  Love you!!

Craft: Butterfly Footprint Art

I wanted to get my mom something unique from Hannah for her birthday.  Since Hannah is too little to help make something herself, I set out on Pinterest in search of something to make.  Anyone that knows me well knows that I am not a very crafty person.  I really really wish I were.  I love crafts and the idea of being able to make things yourself; however, my craft attempts are known to end in tears. I inevitably mess them up every time.  This time my desire to make something different won out against my hesitation to craft and I found this for inspiration.

This colors would look really cute in Hannah's nursery.

A quick trip to the craft store and we were ready to go!

Hannah is not so sure this is a good idea.

During the first attempt, I dipped her foot directly into the paint.

The paint turned out gloppy and it wasn't quite the look I was hoping for.  After a quick clean of her feet we attempted it again, this time painting her foot with the brush.

Doesn't she look thrilled?  :)

(Excuse her wet diaper and our messy kitchen!)

Seriously has she ever had more fun?

Still not exactly what I was hoping for but much better than the first attempt.

I let it dry and then painted on the rest of the butterfly, her name and age.

It wasn't exactly how I wanted it to turn out but being crafting impaired I think the fact that we accomplished it at all was a success.  So successful in fact, I am thinking of doing it again.  I would love to keep one on my desk at work and make another for the wall of her nursery.

My mom absolutely loved her gift!!  From the looks on Hannah's face during the process she may share my feelings on crafting!  Let's hope she is a little more creative than her mommy!!
